In Vitro Human Skin To Replace Harmful Animal Tests

Researchers in London were able to create in-vitro human skin from stem cells which “demonstrates the essential functional properties seen in skin with a functional barrier”. This new 3D model of human skin can be easily reproduced and used in various applications, from regenerative and aesthetic medicine to drug development, and is expected to become a valuable, efficient, cost effective and humane tool to for the testing of drugs and cosmetics.
