Asking UBC President to Have a Heart

A very special Valentine gift was packaged and sent to UBC President Martha Piper, asking her to “Have a Heart” for the animals who languish and die every day of the year in UBC laboratories. 79,918 suffered the very worst levels of pain and distress, unrelieved if analgesia during and following surgery “is contraindicated” to the experimenter…. Our Valentine postcards, signed by British Columbians from all walks of life, urge Dr. Piper to place an immediate ban on these worst of the worst experiments, and a reallocation of precious funding toward innovative and progressive humane research.
