Ask the New York Blood Center to retire its chimpanzees to a sanctuary

After 30 years of using a colony of chimpanzees in Liberia for biomedical research, the New York Blood Center has withdrawn all funding for their care and is abandoning the 66 chimpanzees and leaving their fate to chance, according to a report in The New York Times.

A spokeswoman for the New York Blood Center said in the report that the center “never had any obligation for care for the chimps, contractual or otherwise.” However, the chimpanzees deserve better after being used for so many years in research.

Please sign this petition to urge the New York Blood Center not to abandon the chimps and to ensure they are retired to an appropriate care facility where they can live out their lives in peace!
