Animal Voices Compassionate Thanksgiving Potluck & Variety Show

WHEN: Monday, October 8th 2012 from 6:00PM-9:00PM

St. James Community Square Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver (between Blenheim & Trutch). 1 block from the Broadway bus route. Free parking behind and beside the building, as well as on the street in front.

This is an animal-friendly event, so please bring a vegan dish to share (free of any animal products, including dairy, eggs, honey, gelatin, whey and casein), serving 8, plus a plate, cup, and cutlery for yourself, and a serving utensil for your dish. If you’re not a cook or are pressed for time, no worries! Store-bought food is perfectly acceptable, as is bringing along a non-alcoholic beverage to share (ie. juice, non-dairy milk, coconut water). Please bring an ingredients list for your dish! 140 people attended last year, so this year we have rented a larger venue that will seat at least 150! It is a family-friendly event, so please bring your loved ones!

This year Animal Voices is also hosting a variety show during the dinner, showcasing the entertaining talents of our guests! So if you sing, play an instrument, tell jokes, or perform magic tricks, and would like to perform at the show, please pre-register your act by emailing

There will also be a raffle fundraiser with many great prizes to be won.

Tickets are $5 at the door for this fundraising event. Profits will go towards supporting Animal Voices, part of Vancouver Co-operative Radio, a not-for-profit organization. Animal Voices Vancouver is a weekly radio show airing every Friday at noon on 100.5fm CFRO, Vancouver Co-operative Radio, reporting on and delving into animal rights issues and the vegan lifestyle.

Please note that the venue is wheelchair accessible (just notify one of the event volunteers, when you arrive, that you will need access to the chair lift).

This event is all volunteer run, so we will need some great volunteers to help run the show! If you would like to help out, please email Alissa at

To rsvp for this event, please do so here or here.

NOTE: All volunteers helping table must wear their Stop UBC Animal Research t-shirt
